i'm so glad to have the weekend off. I finished neurology yesterday, the test was easier than the first two. Now i start surgery on monday! Even though the hours will be long, i am excited about it. Tonight i'm watching the cardinals vs. the red sox in the world series. I am rooting for the cardinals, even though it will be hard to see the red sox lose. At least boston still has the Patriots. I'm having a great, relaxing weekend. I'm also going to work on quilts and work on my public health program applications.

i haven't posted for awhile.

I'm watching baseball right now. Actually i'm watching 2 baseball games and monday night football. It is a big sports night! I was sick this weekend, but by now i'm feeling 100 times better! I just need to get a good nights sleep tonight and i will be good as new. Only a few more days on neurology. Too bad, because i'm just starting to like it! I got my surgery schedule. I start on surgery next monday, and i will do vascular surgery first, then pediatrics, then general surgery at the VA hospital, last i will do trauma surgery. They are all 2 weeks long. I am looking forward to surgery, even though the hours are long.

the plumbing problem is officially fixed, as of thursday. Supposedly. So now i am able to take a shower, flush the toilet, and i no longer have to brush my teeth on the back porch and spit into the yard. Unfortunately, this morning, we noticed a bigger stench in the basement and looked into a drain, and there is standing water in there. We are calling the plumber on monday. Hopefully we will not have to go without water draining again.

update #2: i passed the family practice exam! Good thing. Now i can start worrying about the neuro exam, which is two weeks away. I should be worrying about it today - i have the whole afternoon with nothing planned! I will get some studying done, and hopefully go for a run. I also want to work on some quilting. I have had a busy week so i am also planning to just relax tonight. i wanted to do some laundry, but because the washing machines are right next to the drain with the standing water, maybe i should hold out or go to my dad's.

i didn't get to bed early last night, here's why... we have a problem with our sewer. Our landlord, Kristen's mom, called the roto-rooter guy and he came out so i kind of had to stay up since i was the only one home. He got there about 9. He cleaned out one blockage, but when he went to clean out another, he found a pretty good sized rock. He was like... that's not good. Anyway he couldn't get it all cleaned out last night, and he suspected the pipe might be cracked under the house. So this morning i couldn't take a shower, flush toilets, or run any water down a sink. They came out with the camera this morning, and apparently, there is a crack in a pipe, possibly under the garage. Kristen told me that the estimate might be as much as $20,000! They might have to tear out the concrete floor of the garage to repair the pipe. I am so glad i am not the homeowner right now. Not sure when i'll be able to take a shower or pee indoors again.

tonight i actually got some studying done, and i'm going to bed early tonight for sure.

i'm waiting for my grade on my family practice final exam. I hope i didn't fail, but you never know.. if i did, i just have to take the test again at the end of the year, i think. I don't know how long it will take to get the results but i'm hoping to hear soon!

Today i am really tired. I didn't get an especially low amount of sleep last night but i was sleepy all afternoon. I was THIS close to dozing off during my afternoon lecture! Tonight i want to go to bed early but monday night football should be a good one, ravens vs. chiefs. We'll see.
